If you find yourself on the Main Line between Haverford and Wynnewood and you crave a slice, Bella Italia is your best bet.
I got a slice of cheese and Sicilian and Matt got a slice of cheese and a slice of pepperoni.
The cheese slices were a bit greasy but not the gross drippy type of greasy but greasy nonetheless. I noticed that the slices were light on the sauce but there was a nice flavor to the cheese that more than made up for it.
The crust was nice and crunchy as well. The Sicilian slice had a nice airy crust with just the right amount of crunch. There was nothing really too special about the Sicilian slice but it was enjoyable. The pepperoni was good…not too spicy or overpowering.
The place itself is a pretty typical pizza parlour. The walls are covered in Italian memorabilia and pictures of NYC. The people behind the counter are surly yet friendly. There is a giant TV that was showing Italian league soccer. Couple that with the individual cans/bottles or 6 packs of beer that are sold and you could have pretty good pizza eating experience. The bathroom has coin entry (you can get tokens at the counter if you’re a customer) which is understandable since there is train station across the street and a bus stop right outside the door although the bathroom was absolutely filthy and smelled like week old piss.
$2.25 for a slice of cheese is a tab bit pricey but given the recent increase in food costs, it’s undersandable. It’s also on the Main Line. Everything is expensive on the Main Line.

getting your order right is difficult at Bella Italia. it closely resembles “whisper down the lane.” the owner lady who takes your order barely speaks a lick of english and does so in a thick Italian accent. then the people who make the pizza all speak with a heavy spanish accent. or maybe it’s just spanish. so, no wonder your order gets fucked up because nobody working there knows what the other motherfucker is saying!
